Sealer Information - Exterior Paving
Sealer is a semi-gloss acrylic solvent-based sealer.
It is ideal for use on coloured concrete, slate tiles, exposed aggregate, patterned, paving and stencil concrete applications.
It is not suitable for use on glazed or nonporous surfaces.
Surface Preparation
To prepare for sealing, wash the surface with detergent to remove dirt, grease and dust. It is a good idea to do this with a soft broom.
If your concrete is discoloured or badly marked, apply a coat of Xylene the same day. This will dissolve scaled or flaky sealer, whitening and tyre marks.
Once it is dry you are ready to apply the sealer with an approved sealer broom.
Application
When applying perma-colour concrete sealer, ensure there is adequate ventilation or that an approved safety respirator is used.

Apply sealer with either an approved natural fiber broom. A previously used sealer broom will soften up in the Xylene or sealer in just a few minutes. After use, simply wipe off excess sealer and store for next time.
The first coat will normally dry within one hour.
Non slip grit should be applied into the first cote before it dries. The second coat is needed to lock in the grit as the sealer may be slippery when wet.
If applying non slip you will need to apply 2 coats of sealer and the grit is cast onto the 1st coat before it dries and locked in with the second coat.
After application, allow 12 hours drying time for foot traffic and 48 hours for vehicle traffic.
Once sealer is applied it needs to be dry before dew or other moisture sets in - so pick a sunny day with a breeze preferably.
Coverage
Coverage will vary according to the porosity of the surfaces but should be around 6 - 8 square meters per litre per coat.
